PHI 360 - Philosophy of Science

Scientific knowledge is compared with that acquired in other disciplines. Topics common to the physical, biological, and social sciences, such as discovery, explanation, confirmation, the nature of scientific models and laws, are also considered. Offered fall semester, even-numbered years. Prerequisite: Prior work in philosophy or permission of instructor.
