GEO 310 - Plate Tectonics

An upper-level course that explores the fundamental science behind plate tectonics, Geology's major paradigm. Investigates the evolution and development of the thoughts and technology that led to this relatively new (1960s) breakthrough, how plate tectonics is tested, and the predictions that it makes. Part of the Changing Ideas: Changing World theme; not part of the Geology/Earth Science major or minor. (3-0-0) Prerequisites: Completion of physical or life science foundations general education requirement.
