The interdisciplinary nature of dance as a cross-cultural phenomenon; writings and video from a variety of methodological backgrounds, including those from a historical, sociological, critical, and ethnological viewpoint. Offered fall semester of even-numbered years. Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor and junior standing in the dance program.
