SOC 392 - Social Deviance and Social Control

An analysis of deviant behavior: its causes, manifestations, prevention, and programs of control. Special attention is given to the role of social norms in generating as well as controlling deviance. Emphasis is put on ways in which social structures generate and label deviants. Part of Freedom and Social Control theme. Offered fall semester.
