PHI 450 - Metaphysics

A study of representative metaphysical systems and problems through the writings of the classical, medieval, modern and recent periods. Topics studied include being, substance, causation, essence, matter, form, space, time, relation, etc. Some attention to non-Western metaphysical thought. Offered fall semester, odd-numbered years. Prerequisites: Prior work in philosophy or permission of instructor.
