HST 320 - American Indians

An examination of selected topics and peoples from among the diverse Native American peoples north of Mexico, from the mythic beginnings to the modern era. Topics include problems of writing Indian history, ethnohistory, Indian-white relations, environmentalism, survival, assimilation, and Indian perspectives on American history. Offered winter semester. Part of Perception theme. Prerequisites: Completion of Historical Perspectives Foundation or junior standing.
