ENG 616 - World Literature in English

A varied and dynamic body of literary writing in English has emerged from formerly British territories in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. This course will explore the emergence and characteristics of world literature in English. It will also examine the latter's relationship to the canons of British and American literature. Offered every other year. Prerequisites: Completion of English major or minor or consent of instructor.
