ENG 385 - Writing and Revolution in the Americas

Examines literary responses to various forms of revolutionary change in the Americas. Students consider the ways in which writers have responded to major transformations in societies across the Western Hemisphere. Profound societal changes are examined against the backdrop of everyday life and the persistence of the status quo. Part of the Continuity and Change in the Americas theme. Offered winter semester. Prerequisites: Fulfillment of the freshman writing requirement.
