ED 651 - Counseling and Guidance for the Classroom Teacher

Study of counseling processes applicable to the school setting. Basic principles related to diagnosing, interviewing, listening, communicating, assisting, and referring students for special assistance. Emphasis on relationships of teacher's role in affecting the positive mental health of students. Theories of counseling and behavior change will be reviewed. Offered at least once a year.
