Exploring Careers in Education and Learning (EXCEL) Camp is a 1-week introduction to the world of education. Scholars participate in activities that provide hands-on experience in the field of education. Scholars will be expected to participate in camp activities for 4 hours per day for 1-week. We plan to host this camp in-person, abiding by GVSU and BCPS COVID-19 safety guidelines at Battle Creek Central High School. Transportation will be provided.
Program activities include designing a high-impact, community-based project utilizing project-based learning, developing leadership skills, exploring Grand Valley State University, and learning more about the college admissions process in preparation for their senior year.
Depending on COVID-19 safety guidelines, we hope to engage in at least a 1 day campus visit to Grand Valley State University after camp on June 28.Transportation will be provided from BCCHS to GVSU Campuses. Meals and snacks will be provided too.
LocationAll camp activities will occur at Battle Creek Central High School depending on COVID-19 safety.
