2026 Asian Student Achievement Program Welcome Schedule
It is highly encouraged that you attend all of the events during our 2-day program. ASAP Welcome is free to all students. Commuter students are highly encouraged to commute to and from campus for each day. Meals will also be provided for commuter students, or any students without a meal plan.

ASAP Welcome Breakfast (Location: Kirkhof Center RM 2201) Learn about ASAP, our community and what to expect from our program. Food will be provided to students!

Lunch (Location: Dish/Kleiner Dining Hall) Students can use their meal plans--any who don't have a plan will be paid for! |

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM |
Walking Allendale Campus Tour (Location: Start at Kirkhof Center Lobby) With your ASAP Mentor groups, visit the different offices in Kirkhof (Office of Multicultural Affairs, Center for Women and Gender Equity, etc.), different Tutoring and Resource centers nearby, or ask to find your classes so you are prepared! |

GVSU Online Resources (Location: Mary Idema Pew Library) ASAP Mentors will help you navigate necessary GVSU websites and applications! - MyBanner - MyPath - LakerLink - Handshake/Workday - Blackboard |

OPTIONAL: Tea Time Cafe Social with Laker Familia! (Location: Tea Time Cafe) Join us on the patio for free boba tea and games! Meet other students in Laker Connections, and discover more about the businesses/restaurants right next to campus. Feel free to come and go throughout this event. *There is limited parking, so please carpool or take the bus (48 route) to meet! We will coordinate carpooling in the GroupMe. |

Explore Downtown Campus & Grand Rapids Use the Laker Line to visit the downtown campus (and other places downtown) with ASAP Mentors! Meet at the Laker Line bus stop in front of Kirkhof by 1:00pm! Along the route is: - Meijer - Restaurants/cafes - Urgent care, other medical services - GVSU City Campus buildings and resident halls |
