Students Ask a Question
A web form enables students to ask a question about majors, career paths, industries, etc.
It shows them sample questions and reminders about what to include to make their question complete and personal.
We Match Their Question to Alumni Experts
Using key words from the student's question and information you shared on your registration form, including background, career, experiences, and interests, we connect the student with relevant alumni.
You Respond
When a student's question is matched to you, you'll receive an email showing you the question and inviting you to respond. If you are not able to answer their question right now, or don't feel like you have the right experience, you can indicate that and we'll connect them with another alum.
Students Get Answers
Students receive alumni responses in their email, hopefully within a few days. They'll gain real insights and advice, begin to build a professional network, and may follow up if they have more questions based on your response.

I am an advertising and public relations major interested in moving to New York City after graduation. I would like to talk to any alums in large cities, especially NYC, about their experience moving and finding an internship and a job.
I am a first year student trying to decide between majoring in nursing or medical sonography and would like to talk to someone about those careers and possibly do a job shadow to learn more about the day to day.
I am a sophomore studying exercise science. I am looking for some advice on career paths. I have always wanted to be a strength and conditioning coach, but have recently gotten interested in rehabilitation. I would love to talk to someone in the exercise and health related areas to learn more about my options and their experiences.
I am a first generation college student majoring in history. I love my major, but am worried about finding a job after college. Should I switch to another major to make more money or focus on what I love? Any advice from fellow first-gen alumni or history majors would be appreciated.
Questions are generally centered on things that help students in the academic and career development, including: career opportunities, what its like to work in certain industries, resume reviews, interview advice, advice on launching a start up, advice on moving to a new city, help deciding between majors, networking advice, and more.
This will vary depending on the types and number of questions from students. It could range from one or twice a month, to a couple times per year. Certain times of the year, during the fall (September-November) and winter (January-April) semesters will likely have a higher volume.
The time commitment is the 5-10 minutes it takes you to respond to a question, when you receive one.
If you receive an email, but don't have time at the moment or the question is not a good fit for you, there will be an option to indicate that. It's no problem to decline a question. We'll send it to another alum and keep you in mind for future questions.
Your answers will be sent directly to the student who asked the question. Your question will also be seen by a couple of administrators. Answers will not be made public.
