Welcome to Grand Valley State University! As a new student your next step is to schedule your orientation/registration session. This session will give you the opportunity to meet with an advisor and register for classes.
Get started by scheduling your orientation/registration session today. We look forward to seeing you on campus! Online reservations require a credit card payment.
The orientation reservation system will be down for maintenance from 8:00 am Saturday, February 6 until 8:00 am Sunday, February 7. You will not be able to make a reservation during this time.
If you are a transfer student and prefer to mail in a check and be contacted to schedule a date, please click the button below for the mail-in form.
Friends and family who choose to accompany their student to orientation will be provided with a Friends and Family student guide and Family Guide folder. Friends and family, along with students, will be invited to speak with a Financial Aid representative and visit the information table while waiting for the university welcome.
Friends and family remain with the student during the check-in, welcome, and paying your bill portions of orientation (not math placement or registration planning). After the paying your bill presentation, your Friends and Family student guide will accompany you through the Kirkhof Center, answer your questions, and guide you to the Housing and Financial Aid offices, if desired. You will be invited to shop in the bookstore or enjoy a snack or beverage from the lobby shop while waiting for your student.
Sessions typically end by 11:30/12:00 for the morning, 3:30/4:00 p.m. for the afternoon.
