GVS University Club Celebrates 50th Anniversary! We celebrated our anniversary of 50 years with 50 events. The Board was extremely busy that year organizing an array of events, preparing for the anniversary celebration, and archiving Club records and photos. A grand celebration was held May 17, 2013 at the home of GVSU President and University Club members Tom & Marcia Haas. It was a beautifully orchestrated celebration with 100 guests in attendance, including 15 of the 16 then-living former Club presidents. Speakers included President Emeritus Don Lubbers, former University Club presidents John Tevebaugh and Ron VanSteeland, and then-current University Club president John Klein. Current membership at that time was 188 (45-Faculty, 52-EAP, 18-COT,  4-MGS, 1-DPS, 68-Life).
