Alumni Relations/50th Anniversary
The Alumni Relations sub-committee, created in 2007, began through efforts with to connect with Grand Valley’s 67,000 alumni base. The committee hopes to create a strong bond with the alumni, through co-sponsorships of a variety of events like Homecoming, Commencement, freshmen move-in, and entertainment opportunities.

Battle of the Valleys
Battle of the Valleys (BOTV) is a tradition held by both GVSU and SVSU Student Governments, where both try to raise money for a children related charity. In the past, Student Senate has raised money for Big Brothers &Big Sisters, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Burton Middle School Library Fund, and Children’s Miracle Network—DeVos Children’s Hospital. During the last two years, GVSU Student Senate raised over $60,000, and kept the Battle of the Valleys trophy stateside.

Presidents’ Ball
The Presidents’ Ball sub-committee plans and implements the annual event in February for both the University President and the Student Body President. Over twenty years, Presidents’ Ball provides an extraordinary opportunity for the students, faculty, staff and community members of Grand Valley to mingle and celebrate the accomplishments of the institution. During the past years, Grand Valley has seen the Roaring Twenties, an Evening in España, and A Red Carpet Affair. This year's theme is A Roman Triumph, celebrating all of our accomplishments in 2008.

Student Legacy Campaign
The Student Legacy Campaign (SLC) sub-committee, started in 2007, is a project to provide funding and promotion for the first ever scholarship for the students, by the students. The members of the SLC are currently raising $10,000 to start the scholarship, and hope to gain more funding to create an endowment for future awards.

Sustainability
The Sustainability sub-committee works to spread the word about Sustainability and what efforts that Grand Valley State University has taken to go green. Working with the Director of Sustainability Initiatives, Dr. Norman Christopher, the committee hosts various luncheons, focus groups, and an all-around push for sustainable living and practices.
