STUDENT PAY RATES FOR ON CAMPUS JOBS.

Pay rates for students are determined by the University and by the department where the student is working.

All on campus rates must correspond with the standard job classification system.

Any existing pay raise schedules are set by the departments and not mandated by the University.

The minimum pay rate on campus is $7.40, which is the State minimum wage. The current federal minimum wage is $6.55. In cases where state rates differ with federal rate, the higher wage rate applies.

FICA (Social Security tax) is not withheld from a student's wage as long as their enrollment does not drop below six credits. During the academic year a student can not work on campus if their enrollment drops below 6 credits.
