GVSU 2016-2021 Strategic Plan

Clock Tower Reflection off the Library

Grand Valley State University continues to offer a diverse student body access to the deep knowledge born of the study of one or more academic disciplines, along with opportunities for developing the crucial, transferable skills and perspectives characteristic of a humanistic liberal education. While it is unusual for a university of Grand Valley’s size and complexity to nurture liberal education as a foundation for all of its academic programs, Grand Valley further distinguishes itself by adding relevant topics of substance to its liberal education repertoire: knowledge of sustainability, global understanding, digital literacy, design thinking, concepts of human rights, and other areas suitable to integrative, inquiry-based learning.
