GVSU mourns the loss of Mary Seeger

Mary Seeger, retired dean and professor emerita of modern languages and literatures, passed away on June 11, 2019 at age 79 after being in hospice care.
Mary and Wilhelm (Bill) Seeger began teaching German at GVSU in 1965. Forty years later, Mary retired as the dean of Academic Resources and Special Programs, and as a professor. Read more about Seeger and her career.
To celebrate Mary's life, a campus memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24, from 1-3 p.m. at the Alumni House on the Allendale Campus. Remarks will be made at 2 p.m. According to the GV Now page, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's honor to the Mary and Wilhelm Seeger Scholarship Endowment at Grand Valley.
