Date and Time

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Description

University leaders have provided our campus community with statements and guidelines to prepare faculty for potential tumult of fall 2017. The Pew FTLC invites faculty and the GVSU community to join in deeper dialogue regarding the role of the professoriate in navigating the boundaries of free speech/hate speech and faculty classroom leadership.

We invite your participation and questions for shared discussion. We are optimistic this event will mark the beginning of a sustained conversation throughout the 2017-2018 academic year.

Panelists:

Tom Butcher, Vice President and General Counsel

Kristine Mullendore, Professor, Criminal Justice and Legal Studies

Shawn Bultsma, Associate Professor, Educational Leadership and Counseling, Vice Chair of ECS

Jennifer Stewart, Professor, Sociology
