Description: To provide encouragement and financial assistance to Spanish majors who have a desire to promote cultural understanding among Spanish speaking populations. Ideal candidates would be students who plan to study abroad and have engaged in service learning projects or activities that increase intercultural awareness of Spanish speaking countries.

Eligibility: 

• Must be accepted for or are currently enrolled at GVSU
• Must be an undergraduate enrolled as a full-time junior or senior student with a major in Spanish, and be making satisfactory academic progress
• Must demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA
• Candidates will have applied to and be accepted for a semester or year-long study abroad program approved by the Padnos International Center
