College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Whether you graduated since 2004 from the newly established College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) or from one of the earlier divisions that merged to create the College, you are invited to consider CLAS home. Together our alumni represent the majority of GVSU's alumni and the heart of its liberal arts tradition.

We'd love to feature your success story, too. Just e-mail Dr. Monica Johnstone, Dir. of Communication & Advancement for CLAS.
Our home page is filled with stories of our students' and faculty's successes. We have a new feature which includes one minute videos of some of our professors (more soon!). And have a look at the books, DVDs and CDs by our College faculty that are available at the University Bookstore.
The CLAS Alumni Board, which held its first meeting in September 2007, now has 19 members representing our college's diverse alumni. These successful and influential graduates of CLAS programs assist the dean to advance the college's mission and strategic goals. At annual meetings and through the work of subcommittees throughout the year, this board encourages ongoing relationships between alumni and the college, the growth of internship and co-op opportunities for students, advocacy with legislators and other influencial friends, and networks to improve career options for our graduates. The most recent meeting of the CLAS Alumni Board was in Fall 2013.
The CLAS Distinguished Alumni-in-Residence Program provides a venue for departments to invite outstanding alumni back to campus to share their post-graduation experiences with the GVSU community. Through the program, our distinguished alumni have the opportunity to share their insights about what constitutes strong academic preparation for students.
Homecoming 2014 will be on Saturday, October 11! Come help us celebrate. See Mindgating page.
