Find Your Strengths

Posted on September 12, 2017

How many times have you been told that you are only as strong as your weakest link? Whether this was referring to a team you were on, or to your personal attributes, this focus on weakness is not new to our society. We grow up being told to work on what we are not good at, because this will make us stronger overall. This could not be further from the truth.

We want to flip the focus from weaknesses, to focusing on what you already do well. The Strengths Leadership Series (closed), offered by the Office of Student Life, will allow you to become a better leader by helping you identify what you are naturally good at, how you can increase your overall effectiveness, and how to leverage your strengths to accomplish your goals. Using the StrengthsFinder assessment, you will be shown what you naturally do well, and the series will help you apply those talents!

This three-part series is perfect for leaders at all levels. DISCOVER helps you identify your strengths and maximize them in your everyday life. LEAD helps you learn how to build your strengths into your leadership style and begin using them in your organizations. WORK, in partnership with the Career Center, shows you how to promote your strengths on your resume and during interviews. All of these sessions are offered twice per semester, and do not have to be taken in any particular sequence.
