Biography

Dr. Ramon (Ray) Hinojosa is an alum of GVSU where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sociology. He has been a university professor for two decades, with a brief stint as a Research Health Scientist at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. His research draws on sociological theory and methods to explore various physical and mental health outcomes and is published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Hinojosa was involved in the production of Crash Course Sociology (https://thecrashcourse.com/topic/sociology/), an educational video series exploring various concepts, theories, and research in Sociology. He currently serve on the Editorial Board of Armed Forces & Society and he is the Executive Director of Hinojosa Family Foundation (https://hinojosafamilyfoundation.com), a 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting education.
