Biography
Professor Phillips specializes in political economy, with substantive focus in U.S. Deindustrialization, Stratification, and Labor issues. He is a former General Motors employee, as a member of both labor and management. Drawing from this unique experience, he brings to the classroom an interesting and at times funny depiction of the way the world works. Professor Phillips is currently working on research projects at the former General Motors metal fabrication division in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Also, he is conducting research in collaboration with Cracow University of Economics in Cracow, Poland, on students majoring in Sociology. Professor Phillips has several co-authored publications and is a nominee of the 2017-2018 Fulbright award.
