Biography

Professor Macaluso is a native of Grand Rapids, a United States Air Force Veteran, and a former GVSU graduate with an interest from local to global.  He is the faculty representative for the Michigan Sociological Association, the GVSU Sociology Club, and the Alpha Kappa Delta honor society. 

Currently, he serves as Vice President on the board of the Beaver Island Music Festival.  He serves as Secretary of the board of Sacred Heart Society of St. Isidore's. Finally, he is the chair for the Michigan Sociological Association’s fall conference at GVSU “Human Rights in Action and Advocacy from Indigenous to Global Perspectives”: https://www.michigansociology.org/.
