Travus Burton

Travus Burton is passionate about the possibilities for positively impacting the communities we serve while providing our students with opportunities to learn in the community context. 

Travus was previously the first Experiential Learning Coordinator at Oakland University and before that the Service-Learning Coordinator in the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Central Michigan University. Travus helped start the first homeless shelter in Mt. Pleasant, the Isabella County Restoration House and served as Board President for three years. Before working in higher education Travus was a HUD Case Manager working directly with homeless individuals and families in Lansing. Travus is currently completing a Doctor of Education degree from Central Michigan University after earning a Master’s Degree from CMU in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Sociology from Saginaw Valley State University.
