Description

Join Dr. Joy Washburn, EdD, RN, WHNP-BC, Carmen Kucinich, victim's advocate for the FBI, & Ruth Rondon, Author & Human Trafficking Survivor as they discuss Human Trafficking with students pursuing health related fields. Case examples from Southwest Michigan will be included in the discussion.

The following objectives will be addressed during the Panel Presentation:

(i) Understanding the types and venues of human trafficking in the United States.

(ii) Identifying victims of human trafficking in health care settings.

(iii) Identifying the warning signs of human trafficking in health care settings for adults and minors.

(iv) Resources for reporting the suspected victims of human trafficking.

Free PIZZA will be provided!

This human trafficking CE activity meets the one-time education requirement for the State of Michigan healthcare providers.

All PIPES events are free and open to any area healthcare professionals, undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a health-related academic program. Students from ALL colleges & universities are welcome to attend. Students enrolled in the MIPERC Student IPE Certificate Program will receive 1 PIPES credit for attending the LIVE event.
