CML - About

The Curriculum Materials Library is part of the Grand Valley State University Libraries. We offer a sampling of high-quality, K-12 instructional materials, which are available for check out and use by GVSU students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Our collection is located in two areas. The Curriculum Materials Library (CML), located downtown Grand Rapids in the Richard M. DeVos Center, houses a diverse collection of puppets, teaching aids, big books, print materials and educational machines.  A collection of K-12 print materials is housed on the 4th floor of the Mary Idema Pew Library on the Allendale Campus.

Collection Policy for the Curriculum Materials Library

Our purchases are prioritized to make sure that materials which directly support course work are available at our location.  Materials selection criteria consider the potential use of the materials on both a current and a long-term basis. Materials should receive favorable reviews in the professional literature of a given subject field or in a standard review source. Materials should also support the current courses at GVSU.

Suggestions for purchase by faculty and students are followed up with a review search, if at all possible. Choice of each item is based on its relationship to the Curriculum Materials Library collections and its contribution to stated collection development policies.

Directions to the Curriculum Materials Library (CML), GVSU Pew Campus - Grand Rapids, Mi:

The Curriculum Materials Library is located in the Richard M. DeVos Center, Building A, in Rm.114A on the downtown Grand Rapids Pew Campus.  Enter building A by the clock tower. The CML is in room 114A, inside of Steelcase Library.
