What We Offer

The LEOC provides free advising and information on college admission to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of post-secondary education. We strive to increase college and financial aid access for those qualified and interested. We also provide services to improve the financial and economic literacy of participants to include advising participants on financial aid options, including basic financial planning skills, and assisting with applying for financial aid.

Essentially, we equip adults with educational opportunities for success, and this is how we do it. 

  • Academic advice and assistance in course selection
  • College application completion
  • Preparation for college entrance examinations
  • Completing financial aid applications
  • Education or counseling to improve financial and economic literacy
  • Public information, campaigns, and media activities designed to inform, involve, and acquaint the community about opportunities for higher education opportunities and post-secondary education and training
  • Guidance on secondary school reentry or entry to a General Educational Development (GED) program or another alternative education program for secondary school dropouts
  • Coordination with nearby post-secondary institutions
  • Individualized personal, career, and academic counseling
  • Mentoring programs involving elementary or secondary school teachers, faculty members at institutions of higher education, students, or any combination of these persons
