Friday, November 15

Arrival and Reception

Delegates from colleges, universities, societies, faculty, staff and all others marching in the procession are invited to a reception beginning at 9 a.m. in the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons.

Upon arrival, please check in on the first-floor lobby.

 

Robing and Procession

At 10:00 a.m. all procession participants will assemble in the robing area.

Those marching in the procession must provide their own academic regalia. 

The procession to the Fieldhouse Arena begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. 

Time and Location

The ceremony begins in the Fieldhouse Arena at 11 a.m.

 

Parking

Parking is available in Lots C and H.

No permit is required the day of the investiture ceremony. 

 

Recession

The recession will immediately follow the investiture ceremony, marching from the Fieldhouse to the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons. 

A campus-wide luncheon will immediately follow the investiture ceremony and recessional, beginning at approximately 12 p.m.

Hosted in the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons, this luncheon is open to the campus and guests to GVSU.

Join members of the Grand Valley community as we showcase the academic excellence and community partnerships of our students, faculty, and staff.

  • Video highlights of our physical campuses located in Allendale and Grand Rapids will play throughout our stunning library.
  • Enjoy an exhibit on the history and traditions of presidential inaugurations at Grand Valley State University prepared by Special Collections and University Archives - Open Monday, November 11 –  Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
  • The gallery in the Haas Center for Performing Arts will be open until 5 p.m. where guests can experience an exhibition titled "As Above, So Below," which includes paintings, drawings, and prints that examine the natural world, harkening back to an old sense of wonder.
