  • Understanding guest reviews, guest satisfaction scores, and how hotels measure operational performance.
  • Assisting management with special projects and other operational responsibilities.
  • Working with hotel management to identify opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

A major benefit of this position is the opportunity to learn how the different areas of a hotel work together.

Additional Information

This position is intended to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience in the hospitality industry.

We operate two Marriott-branded hotels in the Grand Rapids market and believe that employees can learn significantly more when they understand how the entire hotel operates rather than only one department.

The position will begin primarily as a front desk role. As the employee becomes comfortable with front-office responsibilities, demonstrates strong performance, and expresses interest, management may provide additional opportunities to learn about other areas of the hotel.

This could include shadowing or assisting with housekeeping, sales, revenue management, operations, guest-satisfaction initiatives, and other management responsibilities.

For students interested in pursuing a long-term career in hospitality, this position can provide a strong foundation and an opportunity to learn directly from hotel management.

Location flexibility: Students may be considered for either of our Grand Rapids-area properties based on their availability, interests, and operational needs.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.

Employer: Mid Michigan Hospitality
Industry: Hotel / Hospitality
Work Locations: Grand Rapids, Michigan
