In preparation for Fall 2020, select buildings on GVSU campuses will have one-way directional floor signs to help with the flow of traffic, especially between classes. These buildings include Mackinac Hall, AuSable Hall, Lake Michigan Hall, Lake Superior Hall, Eberhard Center and the Lubbers Student Services Center.

Facilities Services will have information on which campus buildings will be unlocked as the university moves toward its June 22 return-to-work plan. Details will be posted soon at www.gvsu.edu/lakerstogether. Faculty and staff members are encouraged to carry their key cards.

Facilities Services has also been testing a product on campus that will provide up to 12 months of protection against viruses such as COVID-19. It has been used in hospital settings for about 10 years. Moving forward with this product will provide a high level of assurance that touch points and surfaces in classrooms will remain sanitized.

IMT members meet regularly to plan for any necessary actions surrounding COVID-19. The team makes recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, using public health and CDC guidance.

The IMT is made up of representatives from various campus departments, including the Grand Valley Police Department, Office of the Vice Provost for Health, Facilities Services, Housing and Residence Life, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and University Communications. An expanded group of more than 35 people meets weekly.
