The Health Sciences Early College Academy, held at the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences, will host an open house on Saturday, March 9, for interested high school juniors and seniors and their families.

The event will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at CHS, 301 Michigan St. NE.

Russell Wallsteadt, early college instructor, said the biomedical technology program is ideal for students interested in careers in genetics, biomedical engineering, research and other health care professions.

Operated by the Kent Career Tech Center, the program offers introductory college-level courses to area high school juniors and seniors who want to participate in dual-enrollment and earn up to seven college credits at no charge to families.

For information, contact Wallsteadt at (616) 460-3247 or [email protected]. To learn more about the academy, visit their website.
