Cooking classes will highlight staff recipes

The Health and Wellness team will host two cooking classes for faculty and staff in March featuring winning dishes from staff members who entered a healthy recipe contest.

Three winners were selected from entries in breakfast, lunch and dinner categories:

• Josh Marko, special projects coordinator, Michigan SBDC: avocado toast

• Nadia Weinert, continuing education assistant, Center for Adult and Continuing Studies: chickpea potato soup

• Kay Hart, academic program coordinator, Statistics: Turkey Quinoa Veggie Dish

Recipes were reviewed by registered dietitians, who will host cooking classes for faculty and staff members at the following times; RSVP online at gvsu.edu/sprout.

March 21, noon-1 p.m., DeVos Center, room 117E: Chickpea Potato Soup, led by Jody Vogelzang, director for the Master of Clinical Dietetics program, and registered dietitian and nutritionist

March 27, noon-1 p.m., Kirkhof Center, room 0072: Turkey Quinoa Veggie Dish, led by Lori Schermers, registered dietitian, Campus Recreation

Lindsey DesArmo, health and wellness manager, said recipes will be shared on the department's website and added resources for eating healthy on campus are also online at gvsu.edu/bewellgv.
