Ambassador Nikki Haley to receive Hauenstein Fellowship Award

Former ambassador and governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley will receive the Col. Ralph W. Hauenstein Fellowship Medal from the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies at Grand Valley State University. 

Haley will receive the award at an event hosted by the Grand Rapids Economic Club on May 29. 

Haley served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations from 2017-2018, and served as the Republican governor of South Carolina from 2011-2017. She was the first female governor of the state of South Carolina and the second Indian-American to serve as a governor in the United States.

The Hauenstein Fellowship Medal is the Hauenstein Center's most prestigious external award, and recognizes the extraordinary life of the center's namesake, Ralph Hauenstein. The award honors distinguished individuals who exemplify his spirit of leadership and service.
