WGVU Public Media to host debate between Stabenow and James

Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and Republican opponent John James will take part in a debate October 14 at the WGVU Public Media studios at the Eberhard Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

The debate will air Sunday, October 14, at 6 p.m. on WGVU-TV. It is not open to the public.

Matt McLogan, vice president for University Relations at Grand Valley, will offer welcoming remarks, and Patrick Center, WGVU news director, will serve as moderator.

Center, along with Rick Albin from WOOD-TV 8, and Emily Lawler from MLive, will ask questions of the candidates regarding several topics, including education, health care and the economy. A small group of Grand Valley students will attend and have an opportunity to submit questions.
