Three teams will compete in the Summer Grill Challenge and open Grand Valley's Farmers Market for the season on Wednesday, June 6.

The market will be open from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in parking lot G on the Allendale Campus; it will run each Wednesday (except July 4 and August 29) through October.

Competing grill teams are GVSU Public Safety (Persian chicken kabob), Housing and Residence Life (PB&J chicken wings) and Facilities Services (pulled pork sliders). Participants can taste test all recipes and vote for a favorite; cost to vote is $7, proceeds will go to the Children’s Enrichment Center and GVSU Replenish. To secure a headcount, faculty and staff members are asked to register for the Grill Challenge online, gvsu.edu/sprout.

Nearly 20 vendors have registered to participate in the market. Details are online at gvsu.edu/farmersmarket.
