Preventive care expert to share professional, personal leadership experience at Wheelhouse Talk

Dr. Tammy Born has long been an advocate for preventive health care, including owning and operating the Born Preventive Health Care Clinic in Grand Rapids. She will share her personal and professional leadership lessons at a Wheelhouse Talk February 23, hosted by the Cook Leadership Academy at the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies. 

Tammy Born: Leadership and Medicine

Born has worked in preventive medicine since 1987 when she joined her husband and clinic founder, the late Grant Born. 

For more than two decades, Born has been involved in the advancement of preventive medicine and continues to help increase public awareness of patient options in medical care. 

Born was appointed to the Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery by Gov. John Engler. She served as president from 1999-2001. She also served in leadership roles on advisory committees for Medicare coverage and training in primary care medicine. 

The Wheelhouse Talks are a series of lectures that serve to explore lessons in ethical, effective leadership in the community.
