The Frederik Meijer Honors College will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the construction and opening of the Glenn A. Niemeyer Learning and Living Center on September 18.

The building is designed to merge the academic and social aspects of learning at a university, and was unique at the time of its construction for combining classroom spaces into a living center.

Students, faculty and staff members who have lived and worked in the building are invited to reflect on the "Niemeyer Experience" with the building's namesake, former Provost Glenn Niemeyer, President Thomas J. Haas and Marcia Haas, Provost Maria Cimitile, and many Honors alumni who helped launch the experiment in merging academics with social aspects of learning.

Remarks will begin at 4 p.m., followed by tours of the building.
