Campus walk, Wellness Summit planned

University deans will promote a healthy campus during the third annual Exercise is Medicine on Campus walk on October 5 from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Wellness Summit.

Loren Rullman, vice provost for Student Affairs and dean of students, will lead the two-mile walk. Open to the campus community, the walk will begin at the Cook Carillon Tower, check-in will start at 9:45 a.m.

EIM-OC, sponsored by the American College of Sports Medicine, encourages universities and colleges to promote physical activity on campus among students, faculty and staff. Learn more online at gvsu.edu/eim.

• The Wellness Summit will run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center lobby. Participants will learn about campus wellness programs and resources, have an opportunity to get a flu shot and listen to presenters (students, faculty and staff members) who have implemented healthy lifestyles.
