About 350 students from Grand Valley State University will participate in one of the country's largest single-days of service on Saturday, October 21.

During the 25th annual Make a Difference Day, students will volunteer their time to more than 15 Grand Rapids area organizations, including West Michigan Environmental Action Council, Center for Women in Transition and Kent County Parks Department.

Participants will meet in the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus at 9 a.m. before riding in buses to various sites throughout Grand Rapids.

Entering its 25th year, Make a Difference Day is held annually and supported by millions of Americans. The national event is October 28; Grand Valley is celebrating October 21 because the Laker Homecoming football game is on October 28.
