Event to celebrate GVSU, GR Chinese Language School partnership

The Grand Rapids Chinese Language School and several Grand Valley faculty members are hosting an event April 16 to celebrate a decade-long partnership between the school and the university.

The school provides education in Chinese language and culture to students of all ages who are interested in learning Chinese as a heritage language or Chinese as a second language. For more than a decade, Grand Valley faculty members from several disciplines have provided volunteer assistance to the school, and teachers from the school have served as adjunct faculty members who provide Chinese instruction at Grand Valley.

In addition to faculty partnerships, Grand Valley has hosted Saturday classes on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus for a decade. In a show of appreciation, GRCLS will host a celebration program from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday that will feature a presentation of a charitable donation to the university, which will be passed on to a program that benefits victims of human trafficking.

The event will take place in room 310 of the Eberhard Center.
