Staff members win Giants Awards

Three Grand Valley staff members were honored at the 33rd Annual
Giants Awards & Banquet, February 7 at DeVos Place.
George Grant Jr., dean of the College of Community and Public
Service, and Beverly Grant, interim executive director of the Johnson
Center for Philanthropy, received the 2015 William Glenn Trailblazer
Award. Dianne Green-Smith, associate professor and director of the
School of Social Work, received the Phyllis Scott Activist Award.
The Giants awards, hosted by the Woodrick Diversity Learning
Center at Grand Rapids Community College, recognize African-American
individuals and/or organizations for exceptional contributions that
shape the history and quality of life of greater Grand Rapids.
