The next "Science on Tap" lecture, hosted by Biomedical Sciences, will collaborate with the Grand Rapids Public Library and delve into its summer read.

A toxicologist will discuss "Profile of a Poisoner" on Thursday, July 9, 8 p.m. at the SpeakEZ Lounge, 600 Monroe Ave. NW in Grand Rapids.

Bryan Judge is a toxicologist and program director of the Emergency Medical Residency Program for Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners and Michigan State University.

Cara Ocobock, assistant professor of biomedical sciences, established the "Science on Tap" series as a way to increase science literacy and spark discussion with the public.

She said Judge's lecture pairs with the GRPL summer community book, "Poisoning the Pecks of Grand Rapids: The Scandalous 1916 Murder Plot," by Tobin Buhk.

For more information about Science on Tap, contact Ocobock at [email protected], or find the series on Facebook, search for “Science on Tap Grand Rapids.”

Students under 21 are welcome to attend.
