Registration open for statewide student leadership summit

Students across the state can register for the 18th annual Leadership Summit February 21 at Grand Valley. 

The student-run campus tradition will provide leadership development opportunities for undergraduate students in multidisciplinary aspects of campus life. Register by February 14 at www.gvsu.edu/leadership

Students can choose from more than 30 workshops and enter a leadership case study competition sponsored by Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.

Kirkhof Center, Allendale Campus

Bridget Clark Whitney, executive director of Kids Food Basket, will give the keynote address. Kids’ Food Basket is a childhood hunger relief organization that provides daily meals to children in Grand Rapids and Muskegon. During Whitney’s 12-year tenure, KFB went from serving 125 children in 2002 to more than 6,300 children each weekday in 2014. It has become the largest anti-childhood hunger program in Michigan and one of the largest in the country.  

Registration is $20 for Grand Valley students and $30 for students from other colleges and universities; the summit includes dinner.
