PBS exec to discuss K-16 initiatives

Two executives from the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) will visit Grand Rapids and WGVU Public Media to discuss PBS Learning Media and future K-16 educational initiatives.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to meet Alicia Levi, PBS vice president of education during "PBS & Pizza," September 15 in Loosemore Auditorium in the DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The event begins at 4 p.m. with a presentation at 4:30 p.m.

Levi will also meet with WGVU Engage teams to share her insights.

Lesli Rotenberg, general manager for PBS Children's Media, is the featured speaker for the WGVU Fall Preview. WGVU Public Media, Grand Rapids Public Museum and Grand Rapids Public Schools are sponsoring the 2015 PBS Kids Celebration at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, September 17.

The free event will be held from 2-6 p.m. and will feature Clifford, Buddy the Dinosaur, Cat in the Hat, Super Why! and Word Girl.
