John Stevenson, associate dean of graduate studies, was interviewed for an article about ergonomics published in "PT in Motion."
Kimberly McKee, assistant professor of liberal studies, worked with adoptee scholars, performers and activists and allies of adoptees to draft a statement addressing the actions of Rachel Dolezal, former Spokane, Washington, NAACP president. McKee was also interviewed about the issue for stories in the Washington Post, International Business Times and Think Progress.
Sketches
Rebecca Davis, professor of nursing, received a grant from the Kappa Epsilon Chapter-at-Large of Sigma Theta Tau for a project, "Wayfinding in Aging and Alzheimer's Disease Within a Virtual Senior Residence."
Janet Vail, associate research scientist at AWRI, and Bopi Biddanda, associate professor at AWRI, were co-writers for an article, “Water Quality Monitoring: Lesson Plan for Exploring Time-Series Data,” published in the MSTA Journal.
Cynthia Coviak, associate dean for nursing research and faculty development, received a $349,380 grant from Health Resources and Services Administration, for year four of a project, "Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship."
John Kilbourne, professor of movement science, gave a presentation, "Using Traditional Games to Promote Sustainability and Peace in the Arctic," at the European College of Sport Science Conference (Sustainable Sport) in Malmo, Sweden. He also met with faculty members at Copenhagen University to discuss Arctic studies, and met the Danish Ministry of Education to discuss active classroom design.
Lisa Kenyon, associate professor of physical therapy, received a grant from the Michigan Physical Therapy Association Institute for Education and Research, for a project, "A Home-Based Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training for Children with Cerebral Palsy."
