Conference on autism to explore behavioral challenges
Local and national experts will discuss teaching strategies for children with autism or Asperger’s Syndrome at Grand Valley State University’s Statewide Autism and Training Project (START) 2015 conference. Registration for the conference is closed, but media is encouraged to attend.
Mark Durand, professor of psychology at University of South Florida St. Petersburg, will give the keynote address on “An Optimistic Approach to Helping Students with Challenging Behaviors.” His presentation will focus on new insights into how positive psychology can help families and others effectively care for persons with even the most severe behavioral challenges.
