Students host rally in response to Ferguson indictment decision

About 100 students gathered at the Cook Carillon Tower on the Allendale Campus November 25 to discuss the Ferguson grand jury decision.

The rally was organized by the NAACP chapter at Grand Valley. Members of the group spoke, including NAACP Chapter President Mark Tucker.

“Our group met last night to share thoughts about the decision and we decided that we wanted to host a rally,” Tucker said. “We’re happy with the turnout and happy that faculty and staff were there to support us.”

On November 24, a St. Louis County grand jury decided not to indict officer Darren Wilson for the death of Michael Brown.
