A group of students in Grand Valley’s Strength Club took first place at the first-ever Collegiate Fitness Championship at Ohio Northern University April 12.

The competition tested participants in varying degrees of strength, endurance, agility, coordination and teamwork. Grand Valley competed with students from universities such as Ohio State, University of Kentucky and University of Pittsburgh.

“It was so much fun applying our fitness in a competitive setting and representing Grand Valley in a new sport that is rising rapidly in popularity,” said Jack Klingbiel, president of the club.
